We also work with a team of Behaviour Analysts from parent-run charity, PEAT (Parents’ Education as Autism Therapists).
Our final (and most important) group of experts are parents. They have influenced Simple Steps at all stages and every parent can contribute as we move forward.
The teams above have been involved since Simple Steps began, and will have an important consultancy role as we progress. We are currently have on-going product trials in America, UK, Ireland, India, Germany, Spain, Norway & Canada.

Dr Mickey Keenan BCBA-D, Professor in Behaviour Analysis
Dr Mickey Keenan is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Psychology, University of Ulster, and a Fellow of the British Psychological Society. He has a record of over 50 publications
in a range of different peer-reviewed journals as well as four books, numerous book chapters, five CD-ROMs.
His peer-reviewed publications span a broad variety of areas including autism, gerontology, precision teaching, bereavement, sex abuse, video modeling, stimulus equivalence,
schedules of reinforcement with humans and non-humans, private events, teaching about behavior analysis. He has received numerous awards for his work in bringing behaviour
analysis to the community, including the Award for Promoting Equality of Opportunity (The British Psychological Society), the Distinguished Community Fellowship (University of Ulster), the Personal Achievement Award (New York State Association for Behavior Analysis), and recently the Award for Public Service in Behavior Analysis (Society for Advancement in BehaviourAnalysis).
Also, he has been an invited member of the ABA International Development Committee, is the Foundation Director of the registered charity Parents’ Education as Autism Therapists (PEAT; www.peatni.org), and is on the Autism Advisory Board of the Cambridge Center for Behavioral Studies (www.behavior.org). Working along with PEAT he has pioneered the development of a multimedia tutorial in behaviour analysis for parents of children with autism that is currently being translated into Spanish, Norwegian, and German, and which is funded by Leonardo, part of the European Commission's Lifelong Learning Programme. He spearheaded the Masters course in Applied Behaviour Analysis at the University of Ulster.
Dr Stephen Gallagher BCBA-D
Dr. Stephen Gallagher is a lecturer in undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Behaviour Analysis. He received his PhD from the University of Ulster in 2000 investigating the area of Gerontology.
His publications include numerous peer reviewed articles, book chapters, and multimedia CDROMs covering a range of topics. For eight years he was Consultant Behaviour Analyst for a local autism charity (Parents’ Education as Autism Therapists) bringing ABA training to parentsof children with autism and a wide range of professionals.
He has recently created a University of Ulster Certificate Level course in Applied Behaviour Analysis for parents and professionals.
Dr Karola Dillenburger BCBA-D, Professor of Behaviour Analysis and Education
Dr Karola Dillenburger BCBA-D is a clinical psychologist and Reader at the School of Education, Queen's University of Belfast. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Registered Health Professional. Dr Dillenburger is the Approved Continuous Education (ACE) Co-ordinator for the Behavior Analysis Certification Board at QUB. She is an ABA Advisor at the Applied Behavior Academy in Bangalore, India and has held visiting professorships in Germany and USA.
Dr Dillenburger has published 5 books, a number of CD-ROMs, and over 50 peer-reviewed journal articles in behaviour analysis related to Autism as well as other areas such as
bereavement trauma and loss, child abuse and neglect, and parent training. She is the course co-ordinator of the MSc in Autism Spectrum Disorders and associate member of the Centre for Effective Education at QUB. Her research has been funded by the Office of the First Minister and Deputy First Minister (OFMDFM) in Northern Ireland as well as by Research Councils and Research Charities. Dr Dillenburger is a frequent guest speaker at national and international conferences.
Neil Martin, PhD, BCBA-D, Independent Consultant
Neil has been working as a behaviour analyst (as a clinician, academic, supervisor and researcher), since 1990. Neil received his PhD from the University of Reading (UK) in 1998 and became a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) in 2002.
He was among the first handful of BCBAs in the UK and he was one of the 'ABA Lecturer's Co-operative' that developed the first BACB-approved course sequence in the UK. Although now working independently, Neil still teaches on a number of university programmes including at the University of Kent and the IESCUM programme in Italy. Neil supervises students, he consults to numerous organisations and families both in the UK and internationally, and he is involved in European funded research with other European partners.
More recently Neil was one of the international subject matter experts that reviewed the BACB task list and was also involved in the subject matter expert panel for the generation of the BACB autism task list. Neil is the Applied Science representative of the European Association for Behaviour Analysis and the International Representative of the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board. Neil lives in London, UK.
P.E.A.T
P.E.A.T. is a parent led charity based in Northern Ireland. They promote the science of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) for helping children with Autism. We provide training and support in ABA to parents and carers of children with Autism.
PEAT's goal is to improve the quality of life of children and adults with Autism by utilising scientifically validated and effective intervention.
